Good to know
Pull up to a geodesic dome perched at 9,000 feet on the edge of a million acres of protected national forest — and you'll immediately understand why guests keep coming back. The curved walls, oversized windows, and resident 15-year-old monstera plant set a tone the moment you walk in: this place is different, and it knows it. The dome is ~1,700 sq ft across two levels, recently upgraded by new ownership with a private hot tub, barrel sauna, wraparound deck, firepit, and expanded yoga and game spaces. It sleeps 4 comfortably and is stocked for everything from a romantic long weekend to a full-on nature retreat. Sleeping Arrangements The dome sleeps up to 4 across two areas: • Main Level — Primary Bedroom: King bed with memory foam mattress and pillows • Second Level — Secondary Bedroom: Queen bed with memory foam mattress and pillows • Full Bath: Main floor, Walk-in rain shower • Half Bath: Loft, Ensuite in the upstairs bedroom ---- The Outdoors---- The wraparound deck is where the experience really opens up. The hot tub sits out there with unobstructed mountain views — guests consistently describe ending nights here, under a star filled sky with zero light pollution. The barrel sauna is steps away, and the firepit area is perfect for evenings when you're not quite ready to go in. The national forest trailhead is 30 seconds out the front door — deer, elk, moose, and the occasional bear are regular visitors on and around the property. ----Key Indoor Amenities---- • Kitchen: Full kitchen with a 10-foot island, stocked with cookware, pots, pans, and everything you need to cook full meals • Living: Oversized couch, 65" smart TV with complimentary Netflix, Nintendo 64 with games, vinyl record player with curated collection, board games, and books • Shuffleboard: New game area added — great for groups and rainy days • Yoga/Studio Space (Loft): Dedicated room with yoga mats, record player and chaise lounge for reading • Workspace (Master): Standing desk, desk chair, reading lamp • Starlink — connectivity ready for real work • Laundry: Full washer/dryer on the main level • Family Gear: Pack-and-play, crib, high chair, and kid-friendly dinnerware — fully stocked for families with young children Stargazing At 9,000 feet, bordering national forest with no nearby development, the night sky here is legitimately remarkable. Guests who come for Red Rocks or Denver day trips often say the nights back at the dome end up being the highlight. ----Location & What's Nearby---- The dome is located just above Bailey, CO — a small mountain town with its own personality: • Denver — 45 minutes • Red Rocks Amphitheatre — 45 min; a popular base for show nights • Skiing — multiple resorts within driving distance (Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Echo Mountain) • Hiking — national forest trailhead at the front door with creek access; Meridian Trail and Deer Creek Canyon Park within 20 min • Mudslingers Coffee (Bailey) — local favorite; salted caramel mini donuts are guest-recommended • Bailey/Platte Canyon — riverside area with restaurants, riverside winery, and small shops, ~15 min down the mountain Make sure to pick up groceries on the way in- the nearest convenience store/gas is an 18 minute drive, and full grocery store is about 30 minutes. Neighborhood
Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains at 9,000 feet, Harris Park is a quiet, off-the-beaten-path community where the pace of life slows down and the scenery takes center stage. Just minutes from the South Platte River, guests enjoy world-class fly fishing, hiking through aspen groves, and some of the darkest, most star-filled skies you'll find along the Front Range. The area sits between Fairplay and Bailey, putting you within easy reach of local dining and supplies while still feeling completely removed from it all. In winter, you're a drive from world-renowned ski resorts including Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin. Summer brings wildflower meadows, wildlife sightings — elk and mule deer are regular neighbors — and cool mountain temperatures that make it a perfect escape from the Colorado heat. Whether you're here to unplug, explore, or simply breathe fresh mountain air at elevation, Harris Park offers an authentic Colorado experience that's hard to find and even harder to leave.
